Social Studies Word Searches
Puzzles for social studies: history and culture, the world religions with Islam, Judaism and Buddhism on their own pages, how the mind and society work in psychology and sociology, how archaeology reads what people left behind, and the map skills that place it all.
Archaeologists date many finds with radiocarbon, a method Willard Libby worked out in the late 1940s and won a Nobel Prize for in 1960. Living things take in carbon-14 until they die, and half of it decays every 5,730 years or so, which makes the method useful back to about fifty thousand years.

Every puzzle prints in three levels: easy hides 5 words in a 10 by 10 grid, reading only across and down; medium hides 15 in a 12 by 12 grid; hard hides up to 23 in a 15 by 15 grid. Each print is a fresh draw from the topic's word list, and every sheet comes with an answer key. The same puzzles play online, on your own or against a friend in real time.
