Dessert and Candy Word Searches

Puzzles with a sweet tooth: desserts, candy, cookies, ice cream flavors, cakes and pies, fruit desserts and cake fillings, and three trips abroad with French, Indian and Middle Eastern desserts.

Plenty of these words have a story. The chocolate chip cookie was worked out in the 1930s by Ruth Wakefield at the Toll House Inn in Massachusetts, who chopped a bar of chocolate into her dough; the recipe was later printed on the wrapper of the very chocolate she had used. The foreign lists bring their own vocabulary, from macaron and eclair to jalebi, rasmalai and baklava.

Every puzzle prints in three levels: easy hides 5 words in a 10 by 10 grid, reading only across and down; medium hides 15 in a 12 by 12 grid; hard hides up to 23 in a 15 by 15 grid. Each print is a fresh draw from the topic's word list, and every sheet comes with an answer key. The same puzzles play online, on your own or against a friend in real time.
