Holiday Word Searches
The puzzles here follow the calendar, from New Year's and Valentine's Day through St Patrick's Day, Easter and Mother's Day to Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. The four seasons have a puzzle each, so there is something for the weeks between the big days too.
Holiday word lists change less than you might think. The jack-o'-lantern is a good example: in Ireland and Scotland the lanterns were carved from turnips, and pumpkins took over only after the custom crossed to North America, where they were bigger and far easier to hollow out. The pumpkin has held the Halloween list ever since.
