This David and Goliath word search comes from 1 Samuel 17: David the shepherd boy from Bethlehem, the Philistine champion from Gath, King Saul and his armor, the brook, the sling and the five smooth stones.
The two armies faced each other across the Valley of Elah, and for forty days Goliath walked out each morning and evening to shout his challenge. His bronze coat of armor weighed five thousand shekels, around 125 pounds, the iron head of his spear alone weighed six hundred, and a man walked ahead of him carrying his shield. Nobody in Israel's camp would answer him.
David had come only to bring bread and cheese to his three oldest brothers, and Eliab, the eldest, scolded him for leaving the flock. He told Saul that he had killed a lion and a bear while guarding his father's sheep, refused the king's helmet and armor because he had never worn them, and went down to the brook with his staff and a shepherd's pouch. Samuel had already anointed him in secret in Bethlehem, and after the battle Jonathan, Saul's son, gave David his own robe and sword.
