Bible Stories Word Search
This Bible stories word search gathers the people and props of the stories told most often in Sunday school: Noah and the ark, Moses and the Red Sea, David and Goliath, Daniel in the den of lions, Jonah, and the Good Samaritan.
Genesis gives the ark's size as 300 cubits long, 50 wide and 30 high, roughly 450 feet by 75 by 45. First Samuel puts Goliath at six cubits and a span, over nine feet, and has David choose five smooth stones from a brook for his sling, though he needed only one. Samson's strength, Esther's courage before the Persian king and Ruth's loyalty to Naomi each fill a short book or a few chapters.
The book of Jonah says a great fish swallowed him, and he spent three days and three nights inside. The whale comes from the King James Version of Matthew 12:40, where Jesus refers to the story. The parables of the Good Samaritan and the Prodigal Son appear only in Luke, and the feeding with five loaves and two fishes is the one miracle, apart from the resurrection, told in all four Gospels.
