This Daniel and the Lions word search takes in the whole book of Daniel: the den, King Darius and his decree, the angel who shut the lions' mouths, Babylon and Nebuchadnezzar, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in the fiery furnace, and the writing on the wall at Belshazzar's feast.
Daniel was taken to Babylon as a boy when Nebuchadnezzar carried off the nobles of Judah around 605 BC, and he served under four kings there. He refused the royal food and ate vegetables, interpreted the king's dream of a statue with feet of clay, and read the words mene, mene, tekel, upharsin on the palace wall the night Belshazzar's kingdom fell to the Medes and Persians. His three friends had walked out of the furnace unharmed, with no smell of fire on them.
Chapter 6 belongs to Darius the Mede. Jealous satraps, knowing Daniel prayed three times a day at his open window facing Jerusalem, persuaded the king to sign a decree that no one could pray to anyone but him for thirty days, and under the law of the Medes and Persians even the king could not undo it. Daniel went on praying, was lowered into the den, and the stone over it was sealed with the king's signet. At dawn Darius found him alive, and the men who had accused him were thrown in instead.
