In Poland, Wigilia, the Christmas Eve supper, starts when the first star appears, often with carp, and a place is set for an unexpected guest. Since an advertising campaign in 1974, many families in Japan order KFC for Christmas Eve, and in Australia Christmas falls in summer, with lunch at the beach and pavlova for dessert.
