Christmas Movies Word Search
Forty words from the films families watch every December: Kevin defending the house in Home Alone, Buddy the elf in New York, Ralphie and the leg lamp, Scrooge and Tiny Tim, Jack Skellington stumbling into Christmas Town, and the Grinch and his dog Max, with popcorn, cocoa and a blanket on the couch.
It's a Wonderful Life, the story of George Bailey and the angel Clarence, lost money when it opened in 1946. It became a fixture of December only after its copyright lapsed in 1974 and television stations could show it for free. Miracle on 34th Street won Edmund Gwenn an Oscar in 1947 for playing Kris Kringle, and A Christmas Carol has been filmed dozens of times, with the Muppets among the best loved.
A Christmas Story came out in 1983 and runs on a 24-hour marathon every Christmas Eve. Home Alone in 1990 was for years the most successful live-action comedy ever made, Elf followed in 2003, and The Polar Express in 2004 was among the first films made entirely with motion capture. Rudolph and Frosty, the stop-motion and animated specials of the 1960s, still air every year.
