Winter Word Searches
Nine puzzles for the cold months, when the days are short and school might close for snow. The Winter list holds the season's own words, Snow covers the flakes and the storms, and Snow Day and Snowman are for the morning school is canceled. Winter Sports moves out onto the ice and the slopes, Arctic Animals and Penguins cover the animals built for the cold at the two ends of the earth, and Hot Cocoa waits indoors.
Nearly every snowflake has six sides. Wilson Bentley, a farmer in Jericho, Vermont, photographed more than five thousand snow crystals through a microscope from 1885 on, and his pictures made that six-sided pattern, and the saying that no two flakes are alike, familiar around the world.

Every puzzle prints in three levels: easy hides 5 words in a 10 by 10 grid, reading only across and down; medium hides 15 in a 12 by 12 grid; hard hides up to 23 in a 15 by 15 grid. Each print is a fresh draw from the topic's word list, and every sheet comes with an answer key. The same puzzles play online, on your own or against a friend in real time.
