Self Esteem Word Search
This self esteem word search covers how you see and value yourself: self worth and self image, body image and confidence, the inner critic and doubt, the trap of comparison on social media, and owning your strengths, your flaws and your quirks.
One of the first people to put it in a formula was the American psychologist William James. In The Principles of Psychology, published in 1890, he wrote that self-esteem equals success divided by pretensions, meaning what you achieve compared with what you expect of yourself. By that math, a person can raise it either by doing more or by expecting a little less.
Most studies since 1965 have measured it with ten short statements written by the sociologist Morris Rosenberg, who first gave them to more than 5,000 high school students in New York State. People rate how much they agree with lines such as "On the whole, I am satisfied with myself" and "At times I think I am no good at all." The Rosenberg scale has since been translated into dozens of languages, and researchers still use the same ten lines today.
