Personal Finance Word Search
This personal finance word search covers the money side of adult life: a paycheck and its taxes, debt and interest, a credit score, insurance with its premium and deductible, and saving for retirement.
Interest works for you or against you, and the rule of 72 shows how fast. Divide 72 by the yearly rate and you get roughly the number of years it takes money to double: at 6 percent, about 12 years. The same math runs the other way on a credit card balance at 24 percent, which doubles in about three years if nothing is paid.
The three digit credit score most lenders check is the FICO score, introduced in 1989 and running from 300 to 850. Retirement saving has a famous first too. The first monthly Social Security check, under the act of 1935, went in 1940 to Ida May Fuller, a retired legal secretary from Vermont, for $22.54. She lived to 100 and collected far more than she paid in.
