This Bible verses word search takes its forty words from the passages people memorize most: loved, world and everlasting from John 3:16, shepherd, valley and shadow from Psalm 23, and faith, hope and charity from 1 Corinthians 13.
Psalm 23 in the King James Version begins "The Lord is my shepherd," and restoreth, comfort, goodness and mercy all come from its six short verses. First Corinthians 13 says that love is patient and kind, and ends with faith, hope and charity, the greatest of these being charity, the King James word for love. Isaiah 40:31 promises that those who wait upon the Lord shall mount up with wings as eagles, and run, and not be weary.
The shortest verse in most English Bibles is John 11:35, "Jesus wept," two words spoken at the grave of Lazarus. The longest is Esther 8:9, a single verse that lists the king's scribes, his officials and the provinces from India to Ethiopia. Psalm 117 is the shortest chapter, with two verses, and Psalm 119 the longest, with 176, arranged in groups of eight under the letters of the Hebrew alphabet.
