Ocean Word Search
The five named oceans are all in this grid - Atlantic, Pacific, Indian, Arctic and the Southern, recognized only in 2000 - along with the words for what happens in them: current, tide, reef, trench, plankton and whirlpool.
The Pacific alone is larger than every landmass on the planet combined, and its deepest point would swallow Everest with a mile to spare. Tides are the moon pulling the water, twice a day, which is why a coastal timetable changes by about fifty minutes each day rather than staying put.
The five are one body of water with names attached. Currents run between them in a loop that takes roughly a thousand years to complete, moving heat from the tropics to the poles, which is why northwest Europe is far warmer than its latitude should allow.
