Frozen Word Search
This Frozen puzzle holds forty names from both films: Elsa and Anna, Olaf the snowman, Kristoff and his reindeer Sven, the kingdom of Arendelle, and the four spirits of the forest, among them Bruni the fire salamander and the Nokk.
Disney took the idea from The Snow Queen, a fairy tale Hans Christian Andersen published in 1844. Read four of the main names in a row, Hans, Kristoff, Anna and Sven, and they sound close to his. The look of Arendelle comes from Norway: the artists studied fjords, wooden stave churches and rosemaling, the Norwegian folk painting that shows up on the castle walls and the coronation clothes.
Frozen came out in November 2013 and won two Oscars, for Best Animated Feature and for Let It Go, the song Elsa sings while she builds her ice palace. Frozen II followed in 2019 and took the story north to the Northuldra, a people based on the Sami of northern Scandinavia, with Sami advisers working on the details. Its spirits come from Nordic folklore: the Nokk is a water horse, and Gale is the wind.
