This famous artists word search holds forty painters and printmakers from more than five hundred years of art: Michelangelo, Rembrandt, Van Gogh, Monet, Picasso, Kahlo, Warhol, Hokusai, Kusama and Basquiat.
Michelangelo painted the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel between 1508 and 1512, standing on a scaffold he designed himself and painting over his head, not lying on his back as the story goes. Vincent van Gogh made more than 800 paintings in about ten years and sold almost none of them while he lived; his younger brother Theo, an art dealer, paid most of his bills.
Katsushika Hokusai made The Great Wave off Kanagawa around 1831, when he was in his seventies, as one of his Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji; it was cut into wooden blocks so it could be printed thousands of times. Frida Kahlo started painting at eighteen while she recovered in bed from a bus crash, using a mirror fixed above her, and many of her best-known works are self-portraits. Andy Warhol painted 32 Campbell's soup cans in 1962, one for each flavor the company sold.
