Celebrities Word Search
This celebrities puzzle holds forty words from the life of the famous: the paparazzi and the red carpet, the autograph, the limousine, the Grammy and the Oscar, and names such as Monroe, Chaplin, Hepburn and Beyonce.
Paparazzi comes from a film. In La Dolce Vita, Federico Fellini's 1960 movie about night life in Rome, a news photographer is named Paparazzo, and his name became the word for photographers who chase stars. Celebrity itself is much older, from the Latin celeber, meaning famous or crowded with people. The Hollywood Walk of Fame set its first stars into the sidewalk in 1960 and now runs to more than 2,700 along Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street.
Only a short list of entertainers have won an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony, a set known as an EGOT. Audrey Hepburn is one of them, though the Emmy and the Grammy both came after her death in 1993. Charlie Chaplin helped found the United Artists studio in 1919 so that the stars could control their own films, and Marilyn Monroe was born Norma Jeane Mortenson in Los Angeles in 1926.
