Days of the Week Word Search
All seven days, Monday to Sunday, plus the calendar words around them: today, tomorrow, yesterday, weekend and calendar. Free to print, or play online.
Kindergarten classes often say the day together every morning, with a calendar on the wall, and that is how the order sticks: yesterday was, today is, tomorrow will be. Wednesday is the one that trips up spellers, with a d in the middle that nobody says.
The names are a mix of sky and gods. Sunday and Monday belong to the sun and the moon, Saturday to Saturn, and the four in between are named for Germanic gods: Tiw for Tuesday, Woden for Wednesday, Thor for Thursday and Frigg for Friday.
The free PDF suits a morning-meeting corner; online, the grid changes every round.
