The pairings are worth noticing. HTML sets out what is on a page and CSS decides how it looks; they are often taught together and do entirely different jobs. An algorithm is just an ordered set of steps, which is why recipes are the example everybody reaches for.

Two of these terms get mixed up constantly. Java and JavaScript are unrelated languages that share a name for marketing reasons from 1995. JSON is a way of writing data that came out of JavaScript but is now used by everything.
